This Friday, Bydgoszcz will host the final of the FIM Team Speedway U21 World Championship. The defenders of the title, as well as strong favourites to win the gold medals are the Poles. However, compared to previous years, the FIM has slightly changed the rules for the Friday’s competition.
From this season, each team taking part in the Junior World Team Championships will put up three riders: two regulars and one reserve. This is a reference to the rules that have been applied for several years at Speedway Of Nations. The three-person teams make it possible for more teams to enter the qualifying rounds.
Another reform taken from the SoN series is the scoring system. Instead of the classic "three" for 1st, the competitors will receive four points. The 2nd will be awarded three points. Two points will be awarded to the 3rd. The only thing that does not change is the zero points for the last one. You win or you lose - no ties. In order to take a high place at the end of the tournament, the team will not be able to afford even one slip-up.
Tickets are available online at https://bit.ly/TeamU21_Bydgoszcz and at the club ticket offices which are located at Abramczyk Polonia Bydgoszcz stadium (open from 9 AM to 5 PM).
The competition starts at 7 PM (local time). The event's Honorary Patron is the Member of the European Parliament, Ryszard Czarnecki. ENEA is the sponsor of the tournament. The competition will be broadcasted on the TVP Sport.
