Maksym Drabik had a spectacular season, full of successes reached on speedway tracks. Next to the Individual Speedway Junior World Champion title or Team Junior World Championship, he also got silver in Team Polish Championship. As he says, his vacation's coming to an end and winter will be a time, when he's all about to polish his form for upcoming season.

Drabik's path to the world's best junior title started great. During the first round of Eko-Dir FIM Speedway U21 World Championship 2017, which was taken in Poznań, "Torres" won all 7 heats and after the first round, he already had a 6-point advantage over 2nd rider in the overall classification. However, it went a different way in Güstrow. Polish rider had a terrible looking crash, which brought a collarbone's injury. After this meeting, noone knew how long would his break last.

- Back then, I had different thought coming through my head - both good and bad. It was a tough time for me, but thanks to care of my family, friends and fans' support, it was not that bad. To be honest, I was mentally ready to be back on the track the first day after a crash, but collrabone hurt a lot, so I needed time to get back in shape and recover this injured part as much as I could. Both doctor and my physiotherapist from Rehasport took a lot of their time to help me and without them, it would've been impossible to be back on track.

Drabik was back shortly after that and in the final match of PGE Ekstraliga, proved there were no signs after his injury. In Pardubice, where the final round of U21 World Championship was held, he got 18 points, won the round and jumped on the highest step of the podium.

- I'm glad that I'm back and finished this season safe and sound, that's the most important thing - Drabik said right after reaching the trophy.

Winter is a time of break for speedway riders and time of preparations for the new season. Maksym Drabik underlines that these days off, worked well will pay dividends in the next months, spent on a speedway bike.

- Upcoming months are the period of a right preparation for the new season. Slowly I'm taking my thoughts to the practice gym in Wrocław, where along with my club teammates we'll be working with Mariusz Cieśliński, who's far from giving us a chill. It's going to be a fruitful winter.

Drabik had his vacation on the West Coast of USA, in the sunny California.

- Winter is a time, where we can also relax and forget about our duties. I'm taking this time as much as it's possible. I had a pleasure to visit California and what more can I say - it was just great. I liked it a lot. This climate, beautiful places and a sunny weather - everything there was just awesome - Drabik ended.
