Brady Kurtz is one of three Australians, who will be fighting for the title of world's best junior in this year's EKO-DIR FIM Speedway U21 World Championship. Season 2017 has been so far Kurtz's best, which makes him stand as one of the main candidates to grab the medal.
Despite his young age, Kurtz has already achieved a lot, including the one from 2016, when he became the Individual Australian Champion. Current season has been really good for Brady, which reflects f.e. in SGB Premiership, where he's representing the Poole Pirates. Kurtz won 29 out of 54 heats and became one of the team's leaders in this season.
For this rider, coming from New South Wales, it'll be a second start in the Individual Junior World Championship. First was two years ago, when in 2015, Kurtz was 8th. Australian got the promotion to this year's series after the semi-final in Pardubice, where he got 14 points and took the 2nd position.
Line up of EKO-DIR FIM Speedway U21 World Championship 2017 looks really impressive. Brady Kurtz takes a medal as his main goal in this rivalry.
- There are some riders, who will be fighting for medals. My goal is to get one of these - Kurtz admits.
This year's tournament will visit Poznań, Guestrow and Pardubice. For Australian rider, first round should be the biggest challenge, because he hasn't had a chance to compete at this track before.
- I've been racing in Güstrow and Pardubice a lot and I feel great at these tracks. However, I've never had a chance to compete in Poznań. It'll be a new experience for me. I think that not many of us has seen this track - Australian added.
Kurtz is looking forward to have as good second part of the year as the first one has been so far.
- I'm really happy to race and improve. I hope I'll have more chances to start in Poland (Nice 1. LŻ). Currently, I'm not thinking about the future. Let's finish this season first - Kurtz ended.
