Eight years ago, he was standing on the rostrum's top at the Olympics in Beijing, and got numerous medals of world and European championship in artistic gymnastics. Leszek Blanik, because that is who are talking about is a huge speedway fan for over three decades and wanted to invite all the dans go the final od FIM Speedway U21 World Championship that comes this Sunday in Gdańsk.

- In the current season, because of some personal issues, unfortunately, I was more like a tv fan that an active one. However, since 1986, I have been a huge speedway fan following all the leagues and all kind of meetings - says Leszek Blanik, gold medalist from Beijing.

As it turned out, first speedway love of Leszek was ROW Rybnik.

- I was born in a small city between Wodzisław Śląski and Rybnik. When, I went for my first speedway meeting, I just fell in love in this sport - added Polish sportsman. - That smell, these riders, crowd and the whole support, everything was fantastic. Cumulating emotions in one minute of every heat has been amazing too. This is just incredible. Watching speedway meetings has been a great a change for everyday chores and a pure relax.

In 1996, future gold medalist of Olympics, had moved to Gdańsk, where a strong speedway area has existed.

- I am really, really glad, because of that. For some time, I was even involved into working in the club from Gdańsk - says Leszek Blanik. - Currently, my national team's coach and home duties do not let me be involved more.

This Sunday, we're having the final round of the FIM Speedway U21 World Championship and Leszek Blanik, as a true fan, is really well informed with the world's best junior rivalry.

- I keep my fingers crossed for all Poles starting in this series, however the biggest chances for reaching not only a medal, but even more - a title, belong to Krystian Pieszczek. In the last round, he'll be starting at his home track, where he already showed that he is really fast. After all, he even won the Individual International Ekstraliga Championship - added world champion from 2007.

There is a big chance that Leszek Blanik will also be present during this round in Gdańsk and support Pieszczek.

- For Krystian, this season has been really good and this track and fans' suport will be in his advantage on the road to the title.

I think there is a big possibility of him getting the deal done, but his fight with Max Fricke will be equal and passionate. Max is also a bright star of this season and if he will have a good day there, we will witness a great show. That is why, I strongly encourage to visit Gdańsk and support these young riders, who will be some big stars one day.
