In 2009 and 2010 Darcy Ward - golden kid of Australian speedway took the top of the rostrum. After six years, another Aussie is having a chance to follow Ward's success and it is Max Fricke.

For the first time, his name showed up among Polish fans in 2014, when he signed a contract with Unibax Toruń. Despite a good performances at the practice sessions, he wasn't able to jump into the star-studded line up of the team from Toruń. Therefore, he went on a loan to ROW Rybnik, where in fact, his career started to develop.

Both in King's Lynn and Pardubice, Max Fricke was taking the podium. In UK he was third, losing only with Krystian Pieszczek and Robert Lambert. In Pardubice, it seemed like no one can stop young Australian. Then, a mistake happened that made him lose the first position. Despite getting into the third place, Fricke is at the top of the overall classification of FIM Speedway U21 World Championship.

Right behind his back, with the same amount of points, there is Robert Lambert. Krystian Pieszczek is third, with only one-point loss.
Will Max Fricke follow the big successes of his countryman - Darcy Ward and hang the gold medal on his neck? We will get to know that on October 2nd.
