For speedway fans, Lublin is connected with fantastic feat of local team, who promoted from 2nd Polish Division to PGE Ekstraliga in only two years. However, in 2019 on MOSiR Bystrzyca Stadium will come not only league meetings. In June, Polish city will host first round of U21 World Championships.

In last few years, Lublin was a host of a lot of national competitions, but some time ago, also international speedway came there. Everything thanks to One Sport, who also decided to come to Lublin this year, after one year break.

- In last few years we organised there some events. Poles rode there against World Champions, international squad and Danish National Team. Furthermore, in 2015 we organised there one of U21 World Championships finals and two years later – final round of Speedway Euro Championship. Every tournament, especially international, attracts a lot of fans from other cities or countries. For us, it’s also a promotion of region – said Motor Lublin CEO, Jakub Kępa.

Lublin, as a speedway city, had bigger or smaller problems, but tried to keep in the game. In speedway important is not only to stay on the highest level for a lot of years, but also how fast you can make a comeback after very difficult period. Lublin showed, that everything is possible with determination and hope. Local team is now in PGE Ekstraliga, but for sure it wouldn’t be an easy year. The most dedicated fans remember the best moments there, but youngest of them will have first chance to see huge speedway in hometown. The international competitions are perfect to make up local atmosphere.

- Ambitions and will of fight are the real Lublin’s strength. You can imagine that looking at our results or our stands. Interest is increasing and that’s the fact. I had been bred with speedway. I was close to my father’s career so I doing everything with huge sentiment. I spent houndred of hours in speedway. That’s my passion, important part of my life – said Kępa.

Lublin albo has huge speedway traditions. In the prime, the team was very strong. Everything went well with connection of Polish stars like Marek Kępa, Jerzy Mordel, Dariusz Śledź or Dariusz Stenka and international rockets. The real local icon is Hans Nielsen, who had there fantastic greeting, similar than Pope. Motor fans also love Leigh Adams and Antonin Kasper. Now other riders have to write anoter chapter.

- It’s a lot of huge names there. Every of them is a legend in Polish or world speedway. Of course My idol was my father, but also I’d love to see there Paweł Staszek and Robert Dados again – said Speed Car Motor Lublin CEO.

In last few years, Poles showed that they like to ride on MOSiR Bystrzyca stadium. National Team didn’t lose there any meeting and Poles also made a podiums in individual competitions – Kasprzak and Przedpełski finished on the podiums. It can be a perfect announcement for 2019 U21 World Championships final. Rivalistaion in Lublin will be very important, considering that there’s not a lot of final rounds. For sure, Poles want to be on the top again. Looking at last year’s results, Bartosz Smektała will do everything, to defend the title. Furthermore, maybe Maksym Drabik will try to make a gold again. For sure, noone wants to forget about Dominik Kubera, who was 4th in 2018.

Of course, riders from other countries will try to change something in hierarchy. Furthermore, it’s always a chance, that we’ll meet new underdog. Last year it was Daniel Bewley, but injury stopped his dreams. Of course, now we can only make some bets, because riders have to pass eliminations in may, but fans can reserve some time to come to Lublin in June.

- Lublin is a beautiful city. We have an epic downtown with a lot of places to see. In last 10 years, our city changed a lot so I invite everyone to visit Lublin – finished Kępa.
