Davis Kurmis is a 20-year old Latvian from Daugavpils. Lokomotiv’s pupil made a debut in U21 World Championships in 2018, when organisers gave him a wild card. Unfortunately, that wasn’t his cycle, because he finished 17th with only 7 points.

Latvian admits that it was difficult year for him.

- What can I say? It was my first season in the battle for world champioship. My result is not as good as I wanted. I collided with the reality – said.

Kurmis made a fatal debut on his hometrack. In Daugavpils he didn’t score any point. In Leszno, he scored one.

- I had the best memories from Pardubice, because I scored the most points there. Finally, it was 6 from my 7 in the general classification – he added.

2019 season will last for Kurmis as a junior.

- I don’t have any plans. I will do everything what I can to make the best result in every competition. We’ll see what will come. The most important thing is to improve my results.

Kurmis also wants to recommend his friend and teammate, Oleg Mihailov, who is known as a huge talent from Latvia.

- Mihailov is one of the fastest guys I know. He has a huge talent and he’ll show what he can do. I hope, I will be at least as good as him – finished Kurmis.
