Injury destroyed his season

Share on:

He was one of the candidates to fight for medals, but injury destroyed his season. Britton Dan Bewley finished U21 World Championship’s cycle on 8th position. 19-year-old rider finished so high despite the fact that he didn’t participate in last round in Pardubice.

Bewley didn’t start the battle for U21 title well. In Daugavpils he was only 10th with just 7 points on his account. The fastest was Maksym Drabik, he came back from Latvia with 20 points in GC. In Leszno was really better. Britton finished tournament with 14 points and beated Dominik Kubera and Robert Lambert.

Unfortunately, in August, Bewley took part in terrific race incident in British league and suffered an injury. Diagnosis wasn’t good – he broke his leg is a lot of places. That meant he had to finish a very good season.

– I hit the barriers. After a moment I looked on my leg and I was sure that it didn’t look normal. It wasn’t a nice experience – said Briton after an incident.

After two rounds, Bewley had 21 points and a huge chance to fight for a medal. Fortunately Bewley’s carrer is not in danger. He’s staying positive and his leg is recovering well. Briton confirms, that he’ll be ready for the beginning of next season – for now my leg hurts, but it’s still better than some time ago. Everything is going well. Other things are recovering too, so I will be ready – said the young rider.

Daniel Bewley still has 2 years more as a junior. For sure he will fight for a world championship in that time. We can just wish him more luck. He will do everything by himself.
