In the last days of June, Daniel Kaczmarek made a debut in U21 World Championships. Pole accomplished his first plan and was happy with place in the middle of the table. Kaczmarek has a goal to make in this year’s tournament. He wants to keep focus on riding without calculating any point after every round.
In Daugavpils, Daniel Kaczmarek scored 8 points, what gave him 7th place. In his premier race, Kaczmarek beat Filip Hajek and finished 3rd, behind Dominik Kubera and Andreas Lyager - but we have to say, that in basic part, Kaczmarek made at least one point in every heat.
Good pass has been stopped in semifinal. Kaczmarek had pretty good start from gate D, but he can’t block Maksym Drabik and Dominik Kubera. In that situation, he has one way to go in the first corner – on the outside. There he lost a lot of speed, what caused him unable to fight with his rivals.
- I started in U21 World Championships for the first time and I think, that I had a pretty nice result. Semininal was my first goal and I’ve done it. I’m happy with that – said rider.
At one moment it became unclear if Kaczmarek will finish competition in Daugavpils. In heat 10 there was a dangerous situation, wherein Filip Hlejmland lost his bike control and fell with Maksym Drabik and Kaczmarek. Fortunately, nobody got injured.
- I had an incident in my first start, when I was second. That wasn’t my fault. I though that I had to give up, but finally I finished whole competition. Unfortunately I could not give my 100%, because I felt really bad. For sure, I did my best – said U21 Polish champion 2016.
Unia Leszno pupil is now in interesting situation. For sure, he’s making a debut and he’s trying to have a lot of fun, but in the other way, he’s 21, so that’s his last U21 World Championship cycle. Despite that, Kaczmarek doesn’t want to get to much pressure.
- I don’t want to win every competition. I just want to make as many points as it’s possible and show my high level. I will think more about my results at the end of the season – said Kaczmarek.
