Kacper Woryna was ranked in 4th position in the overall classification of Eko-Dir FIM Speedway U21 World Championship. Pole was second in the final round in Pardubice and thanks to his good overall score, he got himself right behind the podium of the series.

First round of this year's rivalry was taken in Poznań. Woryna, who had been presenting a high disposition, was one of the favourites to be part of the final heat, however it didn't go the way he hoped for. Rider from Rybnik had two falls, which made him leave Poznań with 5 points.

It was way better in Güstrow, though. During the rainy, second part of the series, Kacper Woryna started in the final heat, where he came 4th and ended this meeting with 11 points gathered.

Before the final round of Eko-Dir FIM Speedway U21 World Championship, which was taken in Pardubice, it was known that Woryna would not fight for medal position. However, as he said, this debut in the world's best juniors' rivalry was a kind of a lesson for the future, treating every good perfroamnce as success. In Czech Republic, Woryna crossed the finish line as first in four theats. In the final heat, he was defeated by Maksym Drabik - gold medalist of world championship, and ended this round with 17 points total.

It was easily noticed - progress he has made. In every next round, rider from Rybnik was getting 6 points more than in the previous one.

This season, which is coming to an end was Woryna's last starting as a junior. What's interesting, he was ranked in 16th position among all the riders of PGE Ekstraliga, considering points per heat and was the best one among juniors.

I can win that

Gleb Chugunov is the biggest young star in russian speedway. 19-year old rider, due to bad injury, started in only one round of U21 World Championship 2018. In Pardubice he scored 7 points and won one race. Ufortunately, he couldn’t take part in competitions in Daugavpils and Leszno.

I want to defend the title

Speedway is unpredictable. Despite the fact, that before last U21 World Championship round nobody expected the miracle, it did happen. Bartosz Smektała got 6 points which were essential in order to beat Maksym Drabik and won gold. Fogo Unia Leszno pupil shocked not only fans and specialists, but also himself.

I collided with the reality

Davis Kurmis is a 20-year old Latvian from Daugavpils. Lokomotiv’s pupil made a debut in U21 World Championships in 2018, when organisers gave him a wild card. Unfortunately, that wasn’t his cycle, because he finished 17th with only 7 points.

I’m dissapointed that I didn’t stand on the podium

Andreas Lyager finished 2018 U21 FIM Speedway Championships on 5th position. Dane, for whom it was second season in U21 Worlds, with 29 points, has been placed behind the biggest favourites – Bartosz Smektała, Maksym Drabik, Robert Lambert and Dominik Kubera.

Round in Pardubice saved my season

2018 season was first for Robert Chmiel in U21 FIM Speedway World Championships cycle. Young rider from Rybnik had a pretty good reasult – he finished 9th with 11 points. It’s important to remember, that beginning wasn’t as good as final score. In Daugavpils, Pole scored only 1 point. Also in Leszno it was only a little bit better, because ROW Rybnik rider finished competition with 4 points. Now he’s explaining, that in Latvia he had some bad luck.

Mihailov: I learned a lot

19-year-old Oleg Mihailov is a huge hope for Latvian speedway. Lokomotiv Daugavpils’ rider started in one round of U21 World Championships 2018 and made a really good result. On his hometrack he scored 12 points. Young Latvian came to the top of world’s juniors very fast.
