Rivalry in U-21 World Championship moves to Gustrow, a city founded in thirteenth century. Güstrow is located 45 km to the south from well-known Rostock, in nothern Germany, near Nebel river. Insel, Sumpf and Parumer lakes are very close to the city - they are in the nothern part of Mecklenburg lake district. Over 28 000 people are living in Gustrow and that is twice as much as stands' capacity.

In 1226, Mecklenburg prince Henryk Borwin II founded collegiate, built there. Two years later Güstrow recieved city laws and the castle had been built soon.

In the sixteenth century, the city was destroyed by fire. Also in 1556, Güstrow castle suffered in another catasrophe. Furthermore, since then, Güstrow was Mecklenburg prince's headquarter.

The most important monument in city is another castle, built during the years 1558-1589, renovated in 1963 – 1981. Then, a pretty garden based on old engravings had been added.

There is also a very interesting gothic collegiate church with rich decoration, altars, figures of the apostles and renaissance tombstone.

The other monuments are the most holy Virgin Mary church, Sts. Gertrude chapel, founded in 1430, Ernst Barlach museum and town hall built in 1797-1798 with previous relics.

Also, city is popular thanks to huge Nordzucker AG sugar factory. That consortium is second biggest in Europe.

Speedway stadium is placed in southern part of Güstrow and can contain 10 000 people. Track has less than 300 meters of length.

Second round of Eko-Dir FIM Speedway U-21 World Championship starts in Güstrow, on September 8. Tickets are available: www.bit.ly/Gustrow.
